	News 23-Dec-09 Pre Budget Report - Summary Here is a summary of the key announcements from Alistair Darling's Pre Budget Report 1. The VAT rate will increase from 15% to 17.5% from 1st January 2010 2. Any increase in Corporation Tax rates for small companies will be deferred until at least 2011 3. Employer and Employee National Insurance rates will increase by 0.5% in April 2011 4. The Business Payment Support Service Scheme which allows businesses to defer paying Corporation Tax and VAT is to extended 5.
